FINDING out we were going to be parents!

It was Saturday, August 30th, 2014. I woke up at 5:15 am, which was early for me. I had the urge to take a pregnancy test. Patrick was out of town for work so I was taking this test on my own. Waiting 3 minutes to see the results seemed like an eternity!! The time was up, I took a double take, I couldn't believe my eyes, it said PREGNANT 1-2.

PREGNANT :) 1-2 weeks

All the emotions came flooding in. I was excited, shocked, thrilled and terrified all at the same time!

Since Pat was out of town and there was no way I could wait 10 days to tell him the news, I sent him this photo and said "we have a little secret".

It' wasn't ideal to tell my husband that we're going to be parents via text, but I had to tell him right away! I called him immediately after sending the text and urgently said "did you see the text, did you see it?!" he couldn't believe it.. we had only had the baby discussion 2 months prior and we were both shocked that it happened so quickly! It was such an exciting phone call and I'm glad I was able to share that moment with him, even if it was on the phone.

It has been 5 days since we found out and I couldn't stop thinking now, what? I have to wait 6 weeks for my first doctor appointment? That was just too long to wonder... so I took another test just to be sure, even though I was pretty certain that the digital pregnancy tests are very accurate. Still, I took another test...

PREGNANT 2-3 weeks :)

Test #2... Pregnant!! And now it said 2-3 weeks.. The clock was ticking along.

Patrick was still out of town so I sent him this photo too. So much excitment had been thrown into our lives and we were so excited! It was finally starting to sink in that we were going to be parents to a BEBE!! :)

The next few weeks went by rather quickly and before I knew it I was at my first doctor's appointment looking at our baby for the first time. The countdown was on. I couldn't wait to meet this little peanut!!

First Ultrasound at 6 weeks
